Computer upgrading
« on: January 24, 2003, 07:29:28 am »

Why the simplest things have to be so tiresome?
I bought a new equipment and have a licensed MJ 8 version.  So I reinstalled MJ and tried to restore the license, using the registration code I had. It says that my license has expired. So I went to the restore page and asked for a new registration code and it is mailed to me. The same I have previously entered! I must tell you: I love MJ, but your purchasing method is byzantine! What must I do to restore my license?
Also, my song files are in a different drive now. I restored the library backup to save my smartlists, etc., but now all the songs are pointing to f: (old drive) instead of g: (new one). Is there a easy way to change just the letter in MJ or I must run a new scan after erasing all the library entries?

upgrade to the latest version there has been a few fixes with this problem. it is hard to say since you did not give details on the version number your running but 8.0.394 fixed a license issue.

since you did not say if you were using mj8 or MC9 MC9 also had a fix for a license issue

also if your using the downloadable key it is only good for 14 days and you will need to go to the restore html.

the option find and replace may help

Find: F:\
Replace: G:\

Thank you for the answer. I did the find/replace thing and it worked.
But the license still is going wrong. I upgraded the MJ 8 version to 8.0.394 but now it gives me the contradictory message "error installing Media Jukebox license: Ok"
How is that OK? And I have probably lost a couple of restores. ?
