Subtitle control via App/Remote
« on: February 27, 2019, 02:32:38 pm »

Hi All,

I can't seem to find any way to control the subtitles in JRemote, Panel, Gizmo or MO 4Media.. Is it possible in any of them?

The now gone EOS could do it, in an easy intuitive way, and we really lack the feature in our house.

Greetings from Denmark

Is this when playing to the device or remote control of MC playback?

It is remote control, 99% of the time

See this discussion for how to currently do it with other remotes: https://yabb.jriver.com/interact/index.php/topic,117811.msg816009.html

Okay, so it is sort of doable, though it is far from intuitive and easy.

I wonder why such a basic feature has not gotten higher on the priority list..

Speaking for myself (MO 4Media), I wasn't aware it was a needed feature.  What are you looking for? One-button toggle for subtitles?

You are amazing!!

With young kids in the house, it is pretty much mandatory for us to use subtitles when we watch movies with them, as they are far from fluent in english :)

It worked like this in the old EOS app, and I don't think it should be more difficult than that :-)

3 steps..

I should be able to add something similar.  Thanks.

Having the toggle audio stream option too might be very useful as well (e.g. watching anime with different soundtracks, e.g. Dragon Ball Z).

Stream toggling is now available in v1.5.2 of MO 4Media (accessed by three-dot menu button in Playing Now).
