I know i am on an old JRiver and this may not be JRiver issue - but it is killing me to solve.  A week ago, all WMA files stopped working in JRiver Media Center (and Winamp) - they play as static in each player.  I cannot even edit them in a sound file editor.  HOWEVER, the same WMA files work perfectly in Windows Media Player.  Can anyone offer any suggestions as to what is wrong?  I have tried reloading codecs - but no impact.  Help!  Please!

were they ripped with media player? it could be the DRM in WMA (if your files have it)

because they work in media player that's what makes me think it's DRM related

thank you for the suggestion.  That was not it.  These were voice files i personally recorded.  They worked successfully up till about 2-3 weeks ago... then the same files gave me static.  But they keep working in Windows Media Player.

You might want to try the latest MC 24.

OK.  I succumbed and tried it on MC25 - and the problem disappeared.  I have now upgraded license to MC25.  Thank you for the advice - even though i did not believe it at the time.  You were right.
