Bitstreaming with S/PDIF or none
« on: March 24, 2019, 02:52:46 pm »

I am running MC 25 in Windows 10 connecting Chord Mojo using S/PDIF. The driver is Realtek digital output WASAPI.
Should I turn on Bitstreaming to (S/PDIF)? Both none and S/PDIF works for me but I found it sounds better with S/PDIF.
If I turn on S/PDIF, what does MC do?

Bitstreaming is used to output Dolby Digital and DTS tracks over an S/PDIF connection to an external decoder (AVR), rather than having Media Center decode these tracks to PCM which then requires a higher bandwidth connection like HDMI.
It's not applicable to a stereo DAC.
