Current mjr file “expired” - solved
« on: March 26, 2019, 03:05:45 pm »

I have a Master Licence for MC25. Yesterday I easily loaded MC25 onto my Mac, restored my library from MC24 and installed the licence with the registration code.  As usual I was sent an email with a mjr file so that I could install MC25 on my other machines which in this case are two rpi’s.
When I tried to RestoreFromFile the mjr file I got an error message telling me that my file has expired.  Since I only got it yesterday it should be good still for two weeks.  What I did find strange was that the mjr file has the same name as the one I received in January when I bought the MC25 licence.
So I input my registration code in the install licence screen in MC25 and now this instance on my rpi is showing as registered.  At the same time I got another email with a mjr file (same name again). This means I have used another of the restores.
Any suggestions on why the mjr file did not work? I will likely try later this week with this latest mjr file on my last rpi. If it doesn't work I can always use the registration code again and use another restore, bringing me to 16 left which still should be plenty.
I am using Debian stretch, and the time is correct.

Random shot in the dark, but is your system time/date incorrect?

Is it possible you already had an mjr file in the same directory?

Can you also try just adding the code from the registration box in MC?
You'll want to make sure you have a valid /etc/ssl/certs/ca-certificates.crt
(update-ca-certificates)

Awesome Donkey.  Yes the date and time are correct.
BryanC: there is only one mjr file in the same directory.
Bob. As I mentioned I did end up successfully putting  the code (assuming you mean registration code) in the registration box of MC (by registration box you mean the box that appeared when you click help/install licence.)  This worked earlier, but I don't understand what you mean by valid /etc/ssl/certs/ca-certifictes.crt.
So my problem is only minor for my next rpi install,
I followed the same instructions as I did for my first rpi on my second rpi.  The restore from file command worked fine this time.  Only thing I can think of that might explain this is, as BryanC suggested, that I somehow copied over the old mjr file.  The one I received this morning, and made sure that I saved this one directly to the directory, worked just fine.

thanks
