I have read through the forums searching on 'DSD5.6' but have not found the answer. I've read the WIKI too.  I have a Benchmark DAC2 which can play up to 192Khz output.  I have no issues playing DSD2.8Mhz files. I am unable to play DSD5.6Mhz files however.  I know I must downsample. I have made changes based on the WIKI articles. I go to Tools- Options - DSP. Here, I adjust the output for any input over 192000hz (so starting at 352800hz) to 176400hz

352,800 hz       176,400 hz
384,000 hz       192,000 hz
705,600 hz       176,400 hz
768,000 hz       192,000 hz
greater than 768,000 hz to 192,000 hz and I have moved this to 176,400 hz too

Nothing is working. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

BTW, for those wondering why i chose diff out put values for each input value - someone who seems to know JRiver well, told me the output value had to be a multiple of the input value. This is why I alternate the 192000 and 176400hz values.  Although, it did not make sense to me for the final greater than 768000hz setting.

Do you have DSD bitstreaming enabled in the audio settings? You will have to disable that first.
It isn't necessary to use divisors of the source frequency, especially if you enable SoX resampling.

I'll have to check when I get home but this setting (DSD Bistreaming Enabled) only for DACs that play DSD natively?  My Benchmark is DoP so I'd guess, as I'm able to play DSD2.8Mhz) it is set to DoP.

Bitstreaming can be set to either the DSD or DoP formats, but bitstreaming is an all on/off option in Media Center rather than something which can be set individually by DSD rate.
So if it's enabled for 1xDSD, it's also enabled for higher DSD rates even if your device does not support it.
 
Even if your DAC did support higher DSD rates my recommendation would be to avoid bitstreaming DSD and playing back as PCM anyway. You cannot perform any DSP operations when bitstreaming DSD, including things like Volume Leveling or even regular volume control.

You can limit DSD bitstreaming to specific DSD rates, anything else beyond the limit is converted to PCM.

Is that option new to MC25?
My recommendation is still to avoid bitstreaming DSD though.

From your screen shot i see my settings are all the same except that I don't have SOX checkmarked.  Where do you get that other screen for Bistreaming Formats?

MC's Options > Audio > Bitstreaming option select Custom... and the box will pop up. Select DSD and you'll have the choices.

I have found that doing non-integer conversions uses significantly more CPU time than integer conversions, even using SoX. Therefore, the integer conversions make sense.

Excellent advice.  I made the change to Custom and than chose DSD64 and the files plays.  When I made the change and tried to play, a message popped up possibly telling me to make a change to the output and if I wanted JRiver to make the change automatically and continue on playing the file. I Said 'yes' and the file played.  I than went into the output settings and saw that any input over 192000hz was set to a 176400hz output. 

Now another observation...at the start of the DSD5.6Mhz file, I hear some noise.  It is faint but I do hear it.  Is this dangerous?
