I am trying to set a customized view of albums by a particular artist ordered by 'date'. I like to view by 'artist'.  I want to be able to see the artists alphabetically as I do now. When I select a particular artist (double click on a particular artist) I want to see their albums sorted by date of release...'date'.  However, when I make a change to the Custom View and put 'date' as the highest condition in the menu, I see all albums by all artists sorted by date. 

Is there anything I can do to keep the alphabetical organization for all artists but within an artist's albums, sort by 'date'?

In 'Customize View...':

'View as: Categories'

Show Categories in this order:
Artist
Album

After double clicking an artist and in Album view, in the drop down menu from the tab:
Sort by - Date

You will want to use [Album Artist (auto)] rather than [Artist].

If you try them both, you'll see why.
