TV tuner/program guide
« on: April 11, 2019, 06:32:03 am »

Hi.

I have two PC's side by side. One PC I am able to install a PCI Satallite TV card 'TBS 8922' and receive a program guide 'MC2XML'. The other PC, which I wish to use the TV card with, when I carry out the same installation steps as the PC that works, when I try to load a program guide the message 'The program guide is not valid or does not contain any program information for channels in your list' pop's up.

Any ideas what can be wrong here?

Is there any reason why you cannot use MC's Server/Client method? Use the PC with the PCI tv tuner as the MC Server, then use the PC without the tv tuner as a MC Client (no tv setup required, as it gets all info from Server).

Tried the server/client. I wasn't really keen on this if i'm honest. It's just not slick enough for TV viewing. So after hours of trying things it's looking like a motherboard compatibility issue with the TV card. From what I've read on line some MB are not set up for PCI-E version 1.  So i'm going to contact ASUS next week.
