BD-J playback
« on: July 28, 2019, 02:22:02 am »

Hi, I bought Mission Impossible: Fallout on Blu-Ray (BD-J format) recently but was unable to play it using DVDFab plus Media Center. The latter reported that I needed to install Java Runtime, which I did but it made no difference. I used the 64 bit version. I'm wondering whether my optical drive (Liteon ATAPI iHES208 2) can't play it, or whether the disk was damaged, or whether Media Center can't play this type of disk. Any advice would be much appreciated.

MC cannot play copy protected media (you need 3rd party tool to remove encryption ... like anydvd) ... or rip disk with tools like makemkv that removes copy protection

why mc dont remive copy protection by itself? ... legal issues ... in us its illegal to bypass copy protection on dvd or bluray ... funny thing is - you can legally back up your disk, but its illegal to bypass protection
