MC25 Airplay 2
« on: August 02, 2019, 11:06:46 am »

Does MC25 support Airplay 2 for multi-network device playback from Media Center?

I can't find anything related to Airplay 2 and MC2[345].

Thanks,

Greg

I wish it did. Are there plans to provide AP2 in future releases?

I've seen a few JRiver marketing emails promoting Media Center as an iTunes replacement. I have no idea what segment of iTunes users want AP2, but for me, I'll still need whatever Apple conjures up for a music player in catalina for multi-device streaming. Im using Media Center for serious listening and iTunes for streaming multi-room via AP2. I would like just one for both.

I've found Airfoil by rogue amoeba to be an excellent way to handle anything related to my computer and airplay. I highly recommend it.

I use it as the main way to listen to music from JRiver Media Center on my stereo. It can send the music to either my receiver (Onkyo TX-8270) or to my Apple TV. Also, Airfoil comes with an app (satellite) that you can install on Windows, other Macs and any IOS devices to stream music to them.

Thanks for the reply. Airfoil looks impressive on paper. Have you experienced any sync issues? UR going to Catalina?

Thanks for the Airfoil suggestion. Works great! Opens up more possibilities than Airplay.
