Streaming a VIDEO_TS DVD via DLNA
« on: October 19, 2019, 01:19:49 pm »

Hi,

I have many DVDs ripped as VIDEO_TS folders, and I wish to stream these over my network using DLNA.

I am using Media Centre 25 as my server, and I can stream to my phone using JRemote without any problems. However, when I try to stream to my TV's built-in Generic DLNA client, it gives me an error "file not supported". Is there a setting I can change on the Media Centre side which could fix this?

I should mention that my TV can playback other file formats such as .mkv over DLNA without any problems. Also, if I just add one individual .VOB file from the VIDEO_TS folder into my MC library, and try to stream that, it works fine. So it seems like my TV is unhappy with how MC is packaging up the whole folder and presenting it as one file.

Thanks!
