Problems with Gizmo
« on: October 22, 2019, 04:47:23 am »

I have some ongoing Problems with Gizmo:

1) When I add new Albums to the Server and navigate to it in the Album view, Gizmo only shows a small sub-selection of the songs for a while. Sometimes days, sometimes up to two weeks.
2) Similarly, I have a view for Keywords. If I update keywords, changes can take upwards of weeks to reflect in Gizmo. Seems to be a caching problem maybe?
3) If I search something in gizmo, it presents me with a number of smart choices (e.g. Artist: Fever Ray, Album: Fever Ray, etc). No matter what I click, only the first smart choice played back, I'm effectively unable to select the others.

I can provide access to the server if that would help in debugging.

Edit: What is the general status of Gizmo vs JRemote? I read somewhere that JRemote was due for a large update. Are both still developed?

Clear the Cache under App Info > Storage in Android.
If that doesn't work, clear the App Data in the same location.

Gizmo hasn't had a refresh in a long time. It probably won't, but who knows? It is a bit of a workhorse and mostly still works fine for me. The above has fixed issues I had in the past.

JRemote for Android is getting a large refresh, but when that will be ready??? Some time yet I would guess.

Thanks for getting back to me! That didn't help unfortunately. Two gizmo instances in two smartphones are missing the same files exactly, so I'm guessing it's a media server related issue.

oh well, might have to wait for jremote then.
