Video playback via JRemote/Gizmo does not reawaken HTPC running screensaver

My Windows 10 HTPC is set up to use a screensaver after 10 minutes of inactivity, but if I initiate video playback in MC using JRemote or Gizmo it doesn't reawaken the display.

Is there a way around this that does not require me to use a keyboard or mouse to reawaken the HTPC display?
