I'm curious about how "NEW: You can specify what files to include in the share for Library Server in Options > Media Network > Set rules for included files" will work. I hope there are different settings for PC clients vs remotes vs Android clients. Settings for each device that connects would be better.

Is this reference to something new, "wake word"  in version 26 or does it pertain to smart speakers i.e. alexa or new support for google?

Awesome news!! I purchased for the first time JRiver v.25 on September and now I am waiting very excited the v.26 with the Waveform feature. Please keep working to add the feature to select diferent color for the waveform. By the way, the current position bar it's very thin and sometimes it's hard to click on it, I would like that you make it thicker. Thanks for your effort  ;).

what prodj said. Also, showing at mouse tooltip the pointer's time code as well as the current time code would be very useful.

Please keep working to add the feature to select diferent color for the waveform.

This is skin dependant, and you can set values for colors in the main.xml file for each skin in MC26 for this. I've already done the waveform seekbar color modifications to my Modern Cards skin forks and marko has been updating his skins for the waveform seekbar as well, for example.

Thanks for the explanation Awesome Donkey!. I am so excited to have and test this new and useful feature. Also I would like you that the developer add the optional feature to move the Previous, Pause, Stop, Next, and Position/WaveForm Bar at bottom, due that I have a 32" monitor and for me is more easy control the current playback of JRiver at bottom while I'm clicking between apps in the task bar of Windows.

I don't have access to whatever "NEW: Adobe Photoshop Elements compatibility" points to, but is there any more specifics here, is it an elements only thing? How about regular photoshop and lightroom?

Thanks jachin99. That's way beyond my ability. I was thinking more along the lines of some simple UI that allows one to enter a BD title and then goes and reads an external Bdinfo file from a database. It returns time in/time out to respective particles. This for a small library membership fee of course. We could probably collect enough file info from among the JRiver membership itself. Just an idea, I probably have not thought this through. Thanks again

I use JRiver exclusively for audio play back and always look forward to upgrade time which I see as a subscription to develop the software which is far more democratic than simply charging a lump sum like some of the other players do.
Usually the upgrades include a bit more revealing and detailed sound which is always welcome.
The 26 upgrade ,after comparing it to 25 back to back, however seems to go much further ,at least on my HRT HD DAC, it seems to make a deal of windows system changes? The sound is overall bigger as though the DAC is getting more voltage? The sound also seems a good deal cleaner with less digital glare much in the same way you get with a power supply upgrade.
Overall a great result and $30 well spent!

Let me say thank you here again. It is amazing that JRiver is so receptive to suggestions. I am pretty much positive that I would not have gotten this request filled elsewhere.

Still no mention of Trakt.tv support. A service which you can sync your watch status and/or collection metadata with. This allows you to share through social media your media collection's (library's) meta data. You can rate what you have watched this gets synced, then based on it and what others have liked. The service will recommend media that you may like to watch also.

Given the popularity of the service it may be a useful way to implement a recommendation engine feature into JRiver Media Centre also you can help to promote each other.

I'm surprised that there would be any "sound quality " improvement from one upgrade to the next? How is this at all possible?

I think trakt also provides trailers for movies in theaters also.  I don't use it personally but it might be a bonus.

Regarding this new feature: NEW: Added the toolbar buttons "Fill Track Numbers From List Order" - does this mean I can transfer my playlist to a USB thumb drive and play the files in the playlist order they were arranged in my car, for example?

This is interesting to me too. I've been using version 19 for seven years now, all I need from the player is the best audio experience (Direct Sound from ASUS Xonar Essence STX).
Can anyone from the development team confirm that improvements in this area continue to be made?
Otherwise I see no motivation for me to upgrade.

MC is capable of outputting bit-perfect audio and I'm not sure how that could be improved. That said there's been additions and improvements related to audio over the last couple years like the SoX resampler, memory playback, HDCD decoding, etc.

P. S. If best sound quality possible is your goal, using DirectSound isn't the way to get it since DirectSound goes through Windows' mixer. Better to use something like WASAPI exclusive or ASIO that bypasses the system mixer. You won't get bit-perfect audio output with DirectSound.

Hi, can someone confirm whether MC26 can still detect Reaper’s DAW Rearoute in the device setting. I am currently using MC24 and the Rearoute is available in two of the PC but not in the NUC. I am reluctant to install a new version for fear of losing the Rearoute and won’t be revert to the old version. Meanwhile, I could not stream Youtube or music from MC24. I suspect it could be due to the Rearoute. Is it possible for the developers to test out with Reaper?

I send audio from MC to the round Rearoute.

You can install MC26 and try it.  It won't affect older versions of MC.  Uninstall the older version when you're happy with the new one.

Hi I found this post, and I am also interested in this - can you please make visualization looking like analyzer? :)
i think the "Analyzer" inside of JRiver's DSP Studio looks much better than any of the other "visualizations" available. Would it be easy to simply add this as a visualization option?

Hi,
I have a very old version of JRiver V21. I use Spotify and Youtube a lot, and listen to music mainly plus videos, I not so sure about versions 22 to 26 whether they have the features built into them that allow me to access these 2 features directly from JRiver hence enable me to get BETTER sound quality output? Thinking of UPGRADING.
Your response, please. Thanks.

Did you read the Wiki article? I mean, properly read and understand it?

Do that, then read this: https://yabb.jriver.com/interact/index.php/topic,124041.msg858884.html#msg858884

If you still have questions, start a new thread where we can discuss your specific issue, rather than tack on to this new features thread.
