Setting for FLAC Encoding 24 bit to 16 bit?
« on: December 05, 2019, 11:02:10 am »

I have some 24 bit FLAC files I want to convert to 16 bit in order to save file space.  Which setting do I use in the FLAC encoder to do this?

Edit:  through trial and error I think this is the process.  In the Convert Format module select Options and under Audio, select Bit Rate and change to 16 bit.  Then select the box with 3 dots next to Flac Encoder and select level 8.  That gave me a file with bit rates in the 900 kbps range and cut the file size about in half.

In the Convert Format module select Options and under Audio, select Bitdepth and change to 16 bit.  Then select the box with 3 dots next to Flac Encoder and select level 8.

Fixed it for you.
