JRemote cannot connect to idpi but PC can
« on: December 20, 2019, 12:50:46 pm »

I have an irritating problem  :o. I am using an Rpi4 and normally everything is superb - thanks.

Every now and again, my iPhone 7 with JRemote cannot connect, and neither can my wife's iPhone 7. The 'report' seems to be telling me that I have two addresses - ? Despite that problem, my PC can easily connect to the idPi and control it normally, even when the iPhone cannot.

My way of getting it to work again is the re-boot the idPi and, so far, it comes back to life but the bigger problem is that access to the idPi is not easy and I can't train my wife to do it  :-\

I include the 'report' below. Can you give me an easier way of resurrecting it from the dead - please.

"WOL sent to MAC-address 'dc-a6-32-43-53-e6'

So JRemote is saying that it can't connect to that LAN address (I assume you are on your LAN) when that happens.
192.168.1.178 is the LAN address of the Id.
Can you verify that address isn't changing when you can still reach it with your PC?
Thanks.

One time I had the same exact error. It turned out the gateway firewall port 52199 forwarding was set to a prior IP assigned to the server I was trying to play. Matching the port forwarding rule to the right IP should fix it unless the server IP keeps changing on you.
