playing DVD
« on: May 01, 2003, 12:03:11 am »

I know i may get the 'idiot of today ' price...but

Do i need to install my Power DVD program to be able to play DVD in MC - and RealOne -  ?
Both programs tell me there is missing composants and they cannot play the DVD

Or it is because i have only Windows Media Player 6 ?

If i need to install Power DVD , i do not see the point for both programs to say they play DVD.

Or i miss something?
As far as i can remember there is not a special disc coming with my cdr-DVD player- more than Power DVD i mean-

Drive is a LG

Zev,

For nay program to be able to play DVD you need some kind of DX filter on your system.  WMP 9 does not play DVD either without having filters installed.  You can install filters either by installing a prog which contains them eg Power DVD or by installing a Codec pack.  I think the NIMO Codec Pack contains a DVD filter.  Give it a try...

Thank you.

I'am ripping mes DVDs- only the sound, all my VDV are live concerts- so may be better to use Power DVd and keep MC for recording.
