Crash Symbol Dock
« on: January 23, 2020, 04:53:15 am »

Never had this before: to add and play files to MC I am dragging them to the MC icon in the dock.
The last time I did that MC crashed, same with the next try. Dragging them to the open MC window worked without a problem.
MacOS 10.14.6/ MC 26.0.18

I found the solution: MC seems to have a problem with 88.2 kHz files. After resampling the with WaveLab to 96 kHz I could play the files.

Interesting, will check that out. Are they 16 or 24 bit? What format?

I found a solution: upsampling to 96 kHz solved the problem.

I wasn't able to duplicate this one. Glad you got it fixed.

Drag and drop is imprecise.  I would not recommend using it with MC.

Also, MC should play any sample rate that's standard, which 88.2 is.  I would expect the original files to play, without conversion.  I don't have any, since there are no sources of that sample rate that I'm aware of.   I think the files you find with 88.2 are up-samples of 44.1 CD material, which makes them not very appealing to me personally.

IIRC, mine came from HDTracks. Not sure how they were originally recorded...
