1st... Stop it happening: Do you do any hand held syncing or remote library streaming?
If yes, and this in turn requires an mp3 conversion, MC will auto create the stacks. Turn this off in options > File Location > Conversion Cache > Audio.
This is the only thing I can think of that might be causing this scenario for you.
2nd... Get rid of these cache files... Follow these steps
very carefully:
- Go to a view that lists all of your audio files
- Enter the following expression into the search field in the top right:
-[Stack Top]=-1
This will filter the list so only those that are stacked are listed.
- Select all
- Right Click > Stacks > Expand Stacks
- Replace the expression in the search bar with the one below:
-[Stack Top]=-1 [file type]=mp3
- Select all
- Press Shift + Delete
- Make very sure that "apply to all stack members" is NOT checked.
- Press OK.
All stacks will now be gone, and hopefully, shouldn't return :)
If you are unsure about any of these steps, please ask first as the "Shift+Delete" will permanantly delete the mp3 files from disk once you press the OK button..
