25.0.128 very slow if kept running for multiple days
« on: February 25, 2020, 10:05:54 pm »

Hi all,
for the past month or maybe a bit more, I feel like MC25 becomes slow at responding, showing the rainbow cursor and very slow at refreshing the cover view or scrolling anything etc...
But it happens only after a few days of having MC running.
I typically keep MC running all the time, even when not playing music.
Never had to restart it after a few days like that.
Now restarting it fixes the problem, but I wonder if there is some issues in a recent update of MC25.

Am I the only one having this problem?
Can we still expect fixes for MC25??
I am not planning on upgrading to MC26 so far.

Only thing that changed on system is that the external disk with my library is almost full (~25G available).

My config: Mac Mini 2012, 8GB RAM, Mac OS Mojave 10.14.4

I haven't encountered anything like this before, not on MC25 nor on MC26. It kinda sounds like a memory leak, which in MC26 there's been fixes in the last couple of builds for a couple memory leaks.

Can we still expect fixes for MC25??

MC25's development is done/complete/finished/etc. If you tried MC26 and could reproduce it there, I'm sure the developers would be interested in that, because honestly that does sound like a potential memory leak to me.
