I have MC25 latest version and i use MC25 to convert DSD256 file to DSD64 as my DAC only supports DSD64.

After this conversion, the track sounds well and ok but there is one very short but strange noise between two tracks. It happens for most my DSD256 conversion experience and my DAC plays DSD64 track very well.

Any possible reason for this short noise between tracks?

Is it like a pop or something? DSF files? If so, it could be a somewhat known issue when doing DSD to DSD DSF file conversions that other apps, including sacd_extract (and I've noticed with MC too), has had issues with in the past with a audible pop at the beginning of tracks.

Also worth noting that all DSD conversions in MC go through a PCM stage, so in this case it's going from DSD256 > PCM > DSD64, which is always a lossy conversion.

You might have better luck converting the DSD256 tracks to just PCM and outputting that, instead of the additional DSD64 conversion at the end. It should also avoid the strange sound, hopefully. It *could* be the DAC itself making the sound, as some DACs do have audible pops when changing sample rates, for example.

The Track is available in DSD 64 and DSD128 and DSD 256. You can convert then the DSD 256 file and compare it with the DSD 64 track.

You can open the files with an audio editor to see what is actually in the file. You may then be able to delete the problem. This is not a long term solution but may point to where the problem is. I would suggest Vinyl Studio, which has a free trial period and after that is still very inexpensive.  It may do the DSD 256 to DSD 64 conversion also. I do not remember. Many of the free editors do not support DSD.  Last I knew, Audacity did not except through ffmpeg, but I have not checked recently.

You are perfectly correct as it is a pop and it is DSF file. When I change to use teac hi-res editor to convert from DSD256 to DSD64, the output file (DSD64) will have the similar issue.
I will take your advice to convert to PCM file using MC.

other than output as DSF file, could I convert DSD256 file into FLAC or uncompressed WAVE via jriver?

But i could only see FLAC, WAV but i could not see PCM in the conversion option box?

When I want to convert to FLAC encoder, it doesn't work either.

MC can convert DSD to FLAC/WAV/etc. easily, yes.

Select a DSD track

Right click on the track and select Library Tools - Convert Format

Look at the Convert Format menu.  You will see Flac Encoder, Uncompressed WAVE and other options.

If using the FLAC Encoder, hit the ... for the flac encoder settings.

Options will let you set various things, including where the output file(s) go and how to incorporate the output in the library.
