Jumpy scrolling
« on: March 26, 2020, 06:18:37 am »

When scrolling the sidebar for an album, my selections are herky jerky.   I seem to remember they were smooth in previous versions.   It is easy to go from Bach to Shubert and right past Mozart !!!!  Is there fine tuning for this somewhere?

It's quite smooth on mine with retina monitor and without. Comparing it to MC25 it seems the same.
Is it possible your system setting for scroll wheel speed is set too fast?

I've got a track pad

The only adjustment with it did't help.

You can adjust scroll speed in macOS itself. System Preferences > Mouse section if I recall correctly (not currently booted into macOS).

I can only adjust tracking speed but not scrolling speed on my system (see signature). Scrolling remains jerky, I'm afraid. Also, scrolling is smooth in all other applications so there might be some adjustments in MC needed if that is at all possible.
many thanks,

I forgot to mention that (same as HaWi above) scrolling is OK in all other apps.    And with previous versions of MC (<< version 26).

I experience the same problem - vertical as well horizontal.

However only during playing records over the (internal) network.

Added 04/01: I should mention that every other application scrolls smoothly at the same time!  ... So it could be an optimization topic in mc26..?

Sorry...i'm off topic.
I would bought new mac book mini but hasen't
USB output  so i have to buy some adapters:
One for my music stored in a usb hda and another
One to get my usb to spdif converter.
can these adapters affect the sound quality?
taking into account that the USB to spdf cable is a chord
,can these adapters affect the sound quality? Instead pf plug in directly to his usb contollor ?
Tks giovanni.

It's all digital.   But I had a sound problem with a TV with an Apple TV (Dolby Digital and Atmos) ....the cable couldn't handle the bandwith.  I checked with Apple and they had a specific cable recommendation --  the cheapie cables didn't work.

So...a good adapter should be fine.

This is still a problem in MC 27.....seems fundamental -- I have a 2020 iMac and just the Apple track pad (no mouse).    I used to have a 2014 Mac with a mouse and had similar issues.

Please take a closer look at it -- it is really a serious issue not present in any other software.   I can send a video if needed.
