I have a lot of multi-channel flac and noticed that JRemote when not configured to "transcode audio" will playback but appears to throw away channels vs. downmixing into 2 channel.  Thinking perhaps ALAC would work better since it's Apple-native, I tried a multi-channel ALAC and received same results.  Does JRemote just throw away the other 4 channels and play L/R only for multi-channel?

Since transcoding is a JRemote option, could you allow transcoding by additional parameters, e.g. "transcode multi-channel to MP3" for local device playback?

Cheers
