amazing: waveform appears!
« on: April 11, 2020, 11:50:03 am »

Hi

I digitized an LP with Vinylstudio (a software to record LP and split tracks) to flac files (44.1kHz, 24Bit).
I then loaded the tracks into JRiver an wow`!
Playing the tracks a waveform is displayed.

Now the question is why I do not see a waveform of all may other files (flac, mp3)?

What is the magic behind it?

it was introduced relatively recently and is an output from audio analysis, i.e. reanalyse your library to get this for all tracks

I have a huge library so instead of re analyzing the entire library, I just reanalyze my playlists...just a tip for those large libraries.

It is a feature that I like a lot more than I thought I would. It's great for skipping through tracks.
