Hulu has strict requirements for 1080p streaming. It cannot be done with PC browsers like Chrome or Firefox. 720p is the best quality you can get with the mentioned browsers. What about JRiver? Does it allow streaming Hulu in 1080p?

Nope, don't think Hulu (or Netflix, Amazon, Disney+, etc.) works at all because the embedded browser (Chromium via CEF) Media Center uses doesn't support the DRM Hulu and other streaming services use unfortunately. Not sure if the Internet Explorer engine would work or not, wouldn't be surprised if not because IE is a dead browser.
