TheMovieDB is a step backwards compared to TVDB
« on: June 19, 2020, 11:08:23 am »

TheMovieDB is really a step backwards for me. There are a lot of series which I have with no description, wrong order, not even listed etc. in German language. Everything I am missing is corrrect in the TVDB. MC is really losing value for me with this decision.

I agree. Although it wasn't so much a decision as a consequence of the changes at TheTVDB. I'm hoping JRiver are still in negotiations with TheTVDB though.

Both are user contributed sites

So one can go and add information to MovieDB so other can benefit from it (i do it for Fanart.tv if things i am looking for is missing or not to my liking)

Imho ... tvdb approach is wrong ... selling user contributed data to corporations

it would have been better to offer subscription to super users ... then use those credentials in MC to access TVDB api ... as not all ppl using MC are using it for video
