JRiver on Android TV (Shield) capped at 48khz?
« on: June 19, 2020, 03:20:16 pm »

Hi! I have the latest JRiver on Windows 10. The shield outputs to a Denon AVR3600 via hdmi. On my Shield TV pro 2019 I also have The latest JRiver. It sees the windows library and plays the files, however it always outputs 48khz. The files are FLAC up to 24/192 and DSD up to 256. JRiver Windows is set to NOT convert files when sharing them over the network. In fact when I play from the library on JRiver iPhone/iPad it plays the files at full resolution.
Kodi on the shield also plays the same files from the windows machine via SMB share at full resolution (as reported by the AVR). Am I doing something wrong or is it a limitation of JRiver on Android?
Thanks!

Interesting. I have never been able to get anything other than 48kHz out of any AndroidTV. Will have to try Kodi.

same here.  reported this a while back

none of my flac files will play higher than 48kHz

my soundbar plays dsd and pcm up to 7.1/96K so it is not the limiting factor here

i have not tried audio from other apps.  perhaps it is the shield itself
