Boulder 866: no gapless
« on: October 22, 2020, 02:00:05 am »

Hi,
I'm trying the new Boulder 866 at my Home with MC 26. Normally i use the PsAudio PWD MkII withe Bridge II. I use ethernet connection for both. The problem is that the music trough the Boulder isn't gapless, otherwise with the PS Audio is all ok.

Any suggestion?  ?

Thank you,
Alberto

.. I use ethernet connection for both. ..

Does that mean you are pushing to it via UPNP/ DLNA?

If so then download the DMRA from my sig; run the test; and check if the report mentions support for SetNextAVTransportURI. If it is not supported, that means it can’t play gapless.

Thank you @AndrewFG. I make the test and the report mentions that the SetNextAVTransportURI is not supported.

With Roon, gapless works fine. Do you understand why?

You could ask the manufacturer why it isn't supported.

I ask Boulder amplifier and the answer is: "I’ll talk to our software team about gapless…I certainly see the value in it and thought we were already supporting that. Guess not…"

Very good news! Stay tuned
