No sound at all on any soundcard

I have no idea what I did but in spite of Media Center 27.0.22 showing the spectrogram and the track counter advancing, I get no output on any of my 3 interfaces.
If I jump back to MC26 everything is fine, and to was working two days ago. I have no idea what I might have done.

Ah-ha! I just unchecked Integer mode (which I have checked in MC26) and now I get audio. So what is Integer mode?
My Sound cards are an RME ADI-2 DAC FS and a Universal Audio Apollo x4 if that helps.
