Hoping somebody can help with audio just stopping
« on: December 05, 2020, 06:27:20 pm »

Hi all,
Hoping somebody can help here.  When I play music through my system, the audio will just stop playing.  I've tried restting the Cox modem/router, rebooting my computer, etc.  My PC is on the second floor connected wireless.  My system is on the first floor with a Yamaha 3060 hard wired to the Cox modem/router.  Nothing has changed recently, Except installing a new Roku but it's connected to the netgear router.  there was a major windows update about 3 weeks ago but that's it.

Ok, I think I figured it out.  When the windows update happened a while back I think it changed some settings.  I've been poking around all morning on my PC and discovered that under the Network sharing options Allow media streaming was turned off.  Not sure why that happened, so I just turned it back on, and things seem to be working fine.  knock on wood..

I don't know if anybody else ever experienced anything like this, but if so, check the media streaming options on your computer.

Ok, now, back to Coltrane and my second cup of joe.
Thanks
