Artist Image for Music Concerts (Video)
« on: December 09, 2020, 12:24:07 pm »

I have created a Pane view named Pop/Rock in Standard View, Theatre View and for my JRemote (iPad) sorted by Artist. Sometimes MC shows the Artist Image sometimes not - even if there is an Artist Image in the associated folder under Cover Art.

1.) How to get the Artist Image  for Music Concerts from Video?
2.) Why did JRemote does not show the Artist Image in JRemote and Theatre View - even if there is an Artist Image in the associated folder under Cover Art.

1. I don't think "artist images" are supported for videos. Videos can have individual or series/season thumbnails. EDIT: Apparently they are!

2. Spelling of the artist image file must exactly match the artist tag for an audio file, and mc and media server must be restarted after adding artist images. Check your spelling.

Artist images are supported for videos. Also books, images, etc.

Make sure the videos have the artist tag field populated, then make sure the cover art folder has an image for the artist.

You will have to manually add the images unless you also have music from the same artist where you can then use 'get artist images from lastfm" to have MC download it for you.

Interesting. I don't think I've ever seen it. I don't think I populate the Artist field for those.

JRiver has also added support for composer images so it's possible they can be used with different file types too. I haven't tested it though so I can't confirm.

I did that, but I sometimes  had two Artists  in the Artist field and if one has multiple concerts it should be unique. With that I got the "Coldplay" picture.

Does one have to rebuild the thumbnails if one has a MC Client - server config?
