Gapless playback stopped working

I have been using MC for almost 10 years and have always been happy with gapless playback of albums. Today I noticed there is a slight gap in playback of sequential album tracks that was not there before. I can’t figure out what I might have done to change this. The biggest change is that I upgraded from MC23 to MC27. So I reinstalled MC23, but found the same issue. All my settings are exactly as they were before. I’m using the same PC and the same DAC.

So I’m stumped on this one. Note, however, that what I’m hearing is a very tiny gap, not the usual gap in playback when “Use gapless playback for sequential album tracks” is not selected.

Anyone have any ideas about what might have happened?
