minor bug in JRemote ios (ipad)
« on: February 12, 2021, 04:39:12 am »

When I am in music play mode with tracklist (left) and cover (right):
Touch the 'i' button all meta data is showed. With 'x' close it and covert art is visible again.
But when I touch from the metadata 'Artist', I get all tracks from that artist, then  'add' track to playlist and then go 'back' and close the info with 'x'
The cover art of the album of currently playing track is not present anymore.
'It's minor' but for the development team easy to fix (I guess).

but JRemote is still the best, easy to use, audio remote (at least for me)

I’m a beta tester for JRemote v3.35. Everything has been working great including dark mode working appropriately at night based on your iPhone setting. And the aspect ratio, search function fixes work great too.

So I think this is totally safe to push out to the general public.

Thanks to everyone at JRiver for this.

Disregard. Looks like 3.35 is already available. I just didn’t receive that update.

Thanks.

Thanks, I wasn't clear if there were new issues you were referring to. On my iPhoneX I don't see this.

Sorry but the ‘i’ on an iPad functionality is broken.  See above. Totally not safe and maybe someone who uses the remote for tv series etc should be included in your beta testers as this is something that took 2 seconds to find.  The frustrating thing is you fixed some darned display stuff and broke functionality.

I'm very sorry. I only use JRemote for music listening on my iphone 11 and didn't realize the ipad was having issues.

Is this the bug you are reporting

Select an album
Click the i icon to open the metadata window
Select the track level “I” icon to see the tack based metadata

it doesn’t show the metadata it  starts the track you are trying to select as if you tap the track

There is no way to see metadata at the moment

iPad Pro 2020 iOS 14.4

PS I get normal behavior on my iPad mini on iOS 12.5.1 if that’s a hint

This turned out to be another problem with the Microsoft Visual Studio for Mac we are using to build JRemote with.
It's lack of stability is really a pain.

Just released a 3.36 beta to testers that fixes this and removes the auto theme switching, I suspect it will fix some of the unexplained crashes as well.

Just did a quick test on 3.36b and the 'i' buttons are now working when a Playlist is displayed. However, when I use an Artist view, pick an Artist by long pressing and then an album by long pressing and selecting "Play Now", there are no 'i' buttons while the songs play.
Pressing the "Play" icon (▶) on the top Right switches to Playlist display (Playing Now) and the 'i' buttons are there.

That seems ok to me. I don't think it's changed behavior from previous builds.

Yes, it's always been like that for me in non Playlist views
