Feature Request: Play to Chromecast devices
« on: May 26, 2021, 08:07:19 am »

I currently use BubbleUPnP to play directly from JRiver to my Chromecast devices - and the experience isn't the greatest. It would be wonderful if they could show up as Zones in JRiver.

Would be awesome if my Shield TV showed up as a Zone as it's a chromecast device.

I have been successful using a driver for Windows to set up an Airplay device as a "zone" for MC - at least for audio.  I don't think it can do video since it essentially installs itself as an audio device that can forward to Airplay enabled devices.  Note that JRemote/iOS will now Airplay to any apple airplay device - works perfectly for audio and video!  But then it's Media Center->JRemote device->Airplay to target device.  Would like to remove the "middle-man"

Anyway - both would be excellent features to have as available Zones to render to...
