Tagging problems
« on: January 14, 2003, 10:08:01 pm »

I know MM has super tagging, where it looks up the info for you and applies it automatically - can MJ do this?  Also, I keep getting error message "media jukebox failed to update the tag info for......(this happens with read-only, or when tagging has been disabled)"  How do I make my folders not read-only? I disable them and they go back to read-only.......thanks.

Go To "Help" Then "System Information" And Cut And Paste That Info Into Your Next Message.

In the past, MJ8 had problems tagging mp3 files that already had tags of ID3 version 2.4.  MJ would give that same error about the file being read only, when in fact, it was not read only, but had a version 2.4 tag.  MJ8 works fine with ID3v2.3, but gagged on ID3v2.4.  Is it possible that MM tagged these files with ID3v2.4?  If so, you can delete the tags, and then retag them.  Once the 2.4 is gone, all should work normally.
