Testing JRemote (iOS) 3.37 beta
« on: July 30, 2021, 01:21:46 pm »

Just tried JR 3.37b and it works great on the iPad. No problem when Artist Bio is not found.
However, on the iPhoneX I noticed that the top of the Lyrics is missing at least sometimes (see example in attached screenshot). I am not sure this is new for 3.37 but I didn't  specifically notice it before.

I just downloaded the Beta and have used it lightly for the past couple hours watching puree recorded tv. This issue just developed. Never happened before. When the show I’m watching is at the end I stop it scroll to delete and select delete. Usually a pop up then asks from library, dish etc. Now when i select debate it simply reverts back to the menu. It does not show the pop up not is the file deleted. Caveat is i just update from 27 to 28 this morning and this is the first time I’ve used it since updating. So i don’t know if it’s the combination of the two or what.

Not sure about this one but if you've changed text to more than one size past the default you might have always had that issue.

MC28 added a new video playback method that is automatically used if the server is MC28.
If you have MC27 still installed would you try that to compare?

The latest beta 3.37 unfortunately reverts to some of the view bugs prior to 3.36.
This is because the appstore looks to be forcing us to use a newer Xcode SDK which created the issue.
It might take a while to work around this and I may be stuck with this SDK in which case if you all can report differences between 3.36 and 3.37 that would be great.
The ONLY intended change was to the Bio crash.

I just stoped mc28, changed at start up to nothing on 28 then rebooted. I started mc27 and attempted to delete the same files that failed to delete yesterday in 28. They deleted.

I stopped mc27 and started 28. I tried to delete another of the files o could not yesterday. It worked! Don’t know what happened.  I even rebooted yesterday after installing mc 28. But appears to be ok now.

Sorry, I don't know what "changed text to more than one size past the default" means but I am not aware of having changed the text size in lyrics or anywhere. For example, I add [Instrumental] as the top line in the lyrics field of all instrumental tracks and in the JRemote Lyrics view that top line is cut off almost completely (see attached). Clearly, in that case it doesn't matter but for tracks with proper lyrics the cut top line is not great. If it is indeed something I did how can I fix it?
many thanks

I get the same behavior.  Turning the iPhone to landscape orientation the first line still initially looks the same -  cut off, but it’s then possible to scroll down and display the text while in landscape orientation.  It doesn’t seem possible to do that in portrait mode - if the iPhone is turned back to be in portrait mode, the first line is again cut off and there doesn’t seem to be any ability to scroll.

3.37: Trying to display an individual track’s metadata in the playlist by pressing the “i” icon selects the track and begins playback instead of displaying the metadata.  This isn’t the case in 3.36.

It's the iDevice default text size.
Settings->Accessibility->Display and Text size IIRC

Yes, this is the exact issue I was talking about related to this SDK, it's a known issue.
I'm looking for others. Thanks.

I haven’t changed anything in that menu either.  I  get the same behavior with cut off first line in portrait mode.

Thanks Bob, it's just a minor thing. JRemote is fantastic and I use it every day.
