Good movie tests for MC9
« on: March 25, 2003, 01:47:41 pm »

These are good tests for MC9's playback capabilities...Animatrix.

DL the PC version (Apple MOV's...large size around 150 MB).

They are 8 minute shorts based on The Matrix. Very cool animation. On my 700 MHz PIII (w/ NVidia TNT2 vid card) I get some frame drops and video stuttering (w/ MC9 B133). Sound playback is flawless, though. Curious what kind of results others are getting.

Testing SW playback of low rez sources is for wimps  :P if you want to see what is doable try playback of HD 1080i clips...

Some of these are especially taxing as they are high bitrate clips... Probably much higher than any OTA HD and comparable with DTheater, so I am informed...

Theres also a bunch of HD film trailers and commercials that appear copyright free here... They change every once in a while it seems.. After the SuperBowl there were 8 or 10 files...

And some stuff posted (of questionable legality it seems to me as it is taken from Korean TV but...) here

Thanks for the heads up though... I forgot about the second episode... Downloading the big one now..
