Red Minus Sign for Missing Files No Longer Appears
« on: November 26, 2021, 01:35:46 pm »

I can't figure out when this happened; I've tried all the way back to Media Center 25 and it's the same:  There are no longer any red minus signs next to files that are missing.  I can't seem to find a column that I can add to a view to show this.  The icons and thumbnails all appear "normal" even for missing files.

I rigged up an expression column with:
Code: [Select]
=ismissing()
That shows me what I want and I am able to use it.  But where oh where has my red minus gone?

Thanks for any insight.
Brian.

Well, I found part of the issue.

At some point I think a new option was added:  Tree & View > Advanced > display missing file image in lists

This was unchecked; pretty sure I did not uncheck it.  I'm guessing it defaults to unchecked.  So now in list views I see my red minus sign again.

But in thumbnail views, it's still absent.  In previous versions, when looking at a thumbnails view, I would see a red minus either on top of the thumbnail, or replacing it (I can't remember).  That was very convenient.  But I have it in list views, so I suppose I don't really "need" it.  Just wondering where it went.

Thanks,
Brian.

Ok, so now we appear to be playing JRiver Media Center's favorite game show:  Brian answers his own questions!
The show where Brian asks questions and then just answers them for everyone else to enjoy.  Or laugh at.  Yay!

My previous statement about the red minus missing on thumbnails was just wrong.  It does appear on top of thumbnails.  So my entire problem is solved.

Thanks for watching another exciting episode.  See you all next time!

No laugh at all, Brian. "display missing file image in lists" has indeed been unchecked. I just changed it back after reading your posts. Thank you for spending the time to investigate. I was just to lazy.
