convolution
« on: February 10, 2022, 03:18:19 pm »

Hi,
mc28 on w10

I use the pre loaded convolution pluggin to do the filtering (separating bass, mids, and treble )
works fine.

I would like to use a second convolution pluggin to do some room management.
Is it possible, and if yes, how ?

thanks,

Convolve the two filters outside MC and use the resulting "merged" filter instead

Thanks for answering :-)

I can do this thru rephase, but its some kind of a mess, as I try to create a set of preset to "compensate" for the unbilievable dispersion of bass balance within records ...

Hello Coax, you can try by adding to the DSP chain a convolver VST plug-in.
In theory it should work, even if the best solution is to do as instructed by mattkhan.

This are crossovers, right?
You also need filters for the roomcorrection.
Then you have to convolve the crossover with the roomcorrection and cut the new filter to the desired lengh. Using USB to a soundcard or 6 channel DAC. Then to the amplifiers and to the loudspeakers.

JRiver can only work with one Filter for different frequencies. There are some other SW for a lot of different filters for different frequencies where you can switch between them.
