Is it possible to play audio only Blu Ray straight from Blu Ray ISO or extraction of tracks is needed ? Similarly with DVD-A? I see people asking questions about BR ISO and DVD ISO playback and hence my curiosity.

As far as I know, both Media Center for Linux and macOS requires Blu-ray and DVD ISO images to be extracted to be able to play them, as there isn't a way for either to read them whereas Media Center on Windows uses the system component to read ISO images.

MakeMKV is likely the best answer at extracting them.
