New User - a few questions
« on: March 15, 2003, 01:36:17 pm »

hello,

I've recently switched over from version 8 and a few oddities/questions:

1. Whenever a new song starts, it sounds as though its playing through a telephone and through the left channel. If I take the progress slider and move it forward a bit, this porblem goes away, but starts again with the next song.

2. I hear no sound when playing shockwave files (swf). I'm using real player 8:basic. I can drag and drop these same files into IE and hear sound.

3. Is there a plugin available for the kodak mc3?

Thanks for the help!

1- Change the output format to DirectSound or WaveOut, or Update Soundboard drivers and or DirectX

2 - Don't know

3 - Don't Know

Take care

HI Xtian,

Cant' help you on point 2 but for point 3 (Kodak MC3), there's no specific plugin for use with MJ/MC. Since Kodak MC3 is now a discontinued product, I doubt there will be an MC plugin one day. However, since the MC3 has an USB connection you might find drivers to make the MC3 act as generic USB drive. That way you could gain access to your mc3 from MJ/MC.
check -> http://www.kodak.com/global/en/service/software/multimediaDevices/mc3/mc3Software.jhtml

Hope this helps,

Christian

CMagic,

Thanks for the tip. I've bought a CompactFlash reader and now I have MC looking at my card as though it were a drive, perfect. I just thought I'd take a shot at asking about the plugin, not knowing if they are difficult to create.

Now, if someone can point me in the right direction to hear my swf files, I'll be in business.

Thank you to all who have looked, thought and responded.

I have a Nokia mp3 player and the software to manage the songs on it is AWFUL.

Anyone got any idea if this would work to copy the songs onto my player? (buying a card reader).

I bought a $19 (US) CompactFlash reader made by Lexar, when I insert my card, MJ/MC sees it as another hard/floppy/removable disk drive that I can copy files to and from.

I have now ditched my digital camera software and my proprietary music software that came with my mp3 player. Unloading/loading is as simple as drag and drop.
