Requests for the future...
« on: May 25, 2022, 10:26:11 am »

Hi,
I have requests / wishes for the future.

I want to know if going to add the ability to play Hi-Res files when playing via Wi-Fi: JRiver -> JRemote 2?
And possibility to upload Hi-Res files to JRiver Cloud.

If yes, you can inform me.

Thanks.

I can play hi-res files, including 24-bit/192 kHz files, via JRemote2 just fine. Just make sure conversions are disabled for (supported) audio files like FLAC.

We spoke about before, I cannot play Hi-Res PCM files, you can play compressed *.flac. If we speak about audiophile player, why we have quality restrictions?

You can already upload Hi-Res files to JRiver Cloudplay.
I personally have uploaded 192kHz and 96kHz files back in April 2019

Could it be a restriction of your WiFi?  The lossless-but-compressed FLAC stream conveys the identical data as the Hi-Res PCM but does so more efficiently.  I suggest you test this by replacing the WiFi link with a wired Ethernet cable link.  If the PCM works, its your WiFi.

As an aside, I can play 24/352.8 in 6 channels (and more) via Ethernet.

No, problem not in Wi-Fi. All my files in library is *.wav, and I'm not going to change them.

Many people don't hear deference between *.mp3 and *.wav...

I am talking about *.wav and did not ask you to change them.  How are you certain there is not a problem with your WiFi?
