29.0.54 (5/27/2002)

1. NEW: Scroll zoom with the mouse wheel or trackpad for image playback implemented.
2. Changed: Reverted the optimization that resulted in a slower benchmark in build 50, now turned to speed only and it's significantly faster (on M1) then previous builds.
3. Changed: In image playback, left-clicking the image will no longer zoom in or out.

6. Changed: The tag window opens values at the full height of the tag window when editing something big like lyrics.
7. Changed: Updated Greek translation (thanks Panagiotis).
8. NEW: Tag windows show an option to switch between the modern and legacy tag editors (the shift shortcut has been removed).
9. Fixed: The new right-click menu to expand and collapse all was taking over for all fields in the Tag window.
10. Changed: Spotlight movie and TV content uses Wikipedia language setting.

29.0.54 (5/27/2002)

2. Changed: Reverted the optimization that resulted in a slower benchmark in build 50, now turned to speed only and it's significantly faster (on M1) then previous builds.

Actually, on my rPi, the benchmark went from 1628 (29.0.50) to 1613 (29.0.54). Not significant but definitely not an improvement.

I use USB DAC (Chord) which is capable of playing DSDx4 and up to 768KHz file. From 29.0.54, all music files (44.1KHz to 192KHz and upsampled 768KHz wav and flac) does not play sound through USB Audio except dsf DSD file. Playing is start without any error and progress bar is moving, DAC shows incoming sample rate but no sound, just silence.
Pi default sound output is pointed to same USB audio device, and youtube or VLC can play video and music with no problem.
Even pi default sound play program Aplay can play wav file through USB without any problem...
It was no problem with previous version.
However, it can send stream to other DLNA player without problem include flac, wav, mp3 and DSD. Only direct USB can't play any music file except DSD. Please check this out.

Nothing should have changed in that area. Can you tell me what previous version worked and how your DAC is connected?

29.0.50 was previous version.
DAC is Chord TT2 and is connected on Raspberry Pi 4 USB, Coaxial from OPPO 203.
Raspberry Pi's USB definately worked - aplay, VLC, youtube playing sound through USB to DAC has no problem (192KHz sample rate).

JRiver is(currently) and was(previously) set to use "hw:Chord TT2 USB Audio without any conversion",
And I use DSP studio to set convert sample rate from whatever input to 768KHz - it always set as it is from the start.
I've disabled sample rate conversion and whatever, DAC is silent (only for flac, wav, mp3 and etc, except DSD).

Weird thing is that DSD files does not gets any error or problem. It plays flawlessly.
Playing flac or wav - from 44.1KHz to 192KHz - DAC shows sample rate of incoming stream through USB, but no sound at all.

I did double check - coaxial connected on OPPO 203 has no problem. Whatever source I play from JRiver to OPPO 203 as DLNA renderer, worked. Flac, wav, mp3, dsf, DoP has no problem. DAC and Raspberry Pi's USB has no problem, too - Youtube and others worked.

What else I have to test it? First I thought that my DAC get crazy, but no, it worked.
I will test Windows version today. I believe that it wil worked.

bob, I’m now testing same configuration of JRiver but Windows version 29.0.41.
It does not have any problem with my DAC, through USB connection.
Whatever source, any type, sample rate conversion, DSD bitstreaming, all works.
But I just change USB from Windows PC to Raspberry Pi, from version 29.0.41 to 29.0.54, with USB connection, same problem persist. No sound from whatever source except DSD.
Please check it out…

I don't have the same hardware but I'll try it on my iFi mini on a Pi.
Are you using the 32 bit or 64bit ARM build?
Have you tried looking to see if the mute is on?
Also, you could run alsamixer to see if any of the volume controls for that device are turned down or muted.
MC by itself only controls the common volume controls and a lot of devices have their own quirks in this area
(that would also explain why DSD works, it can't use any hardware volume controls)

Wow. This is one of the stupidest thing that I ever made in my JRiver life!!!
Yes, you are right, volume control was all the way down to zero. I don't know when it adjusted like this, but I made volume control to top, every sounds are ok now. I use raspberry and jriver as headless dlna server and only control with jremote on iPad, I did not pay attension for it's volume control(because jremote volume control do nothing).
Thanks a lot bob. It is surprise that you just point out what should be a problem and it is exact solution....!
