First I thought I have a virus on my computer - the C:Documents directory was growing fast, I detached everything from my computer.

But it seems MC new service :  Data files can lookup images from the Internet.

It floods my C:Document folder with Images from the Internet - and they are all wrong and have nothing to do with the content of the documents. It's very bad - I also have them in the backup. How could I be sure that MC does not push porn pictures or even worse on my computer!

I absolutely don't want that and I thing it's even against EU LAW.

So please tell me how do I disable it?

Thank you very much!

Background Information:
Yes I have imported my Documents folder In MC since a long time and I have given keywords to the documents to easily find them and it works great (simple document archive). But that gives you not the right to scan them and put pictures in the folders.

Try turning off support for Documents in Tools > Options > General > Features.

Or install an older version.

I'm sorry for the problem.  And sorry it happened on a holiday weekend.  We're back at work tomorrow.

The lookup was added for books, but I can imagine it doesn't work well for pdf files or doc files.  What other filetypes do you have that would not work?  I think MC is looking them up from Google Wikipedia.  You could try a few manually.

We added looking at Wikipedia using the name field.  Since it's Wiki, nothing scary should be found.  It only looks up data files that don't have an image already.  The goal was so your book "Moby Dick" would have an image.  What could we do to make both sides happy?

Coming next build:
Changed: Data file image lookup is only done on files with a media sub type of "Book".

See picture below. As I mentioned I use MC also as Mini Document Archive.

Suggestion:
If you want to have your e-Books scanned:
- Define a Path like Audio for e-Books and only this directory is scanned.

I have also some e-Books. But they are commercially bought and Have DRM. I don't think that you get much success with finding the pictures for the e-Book.
