Apple DVD Drive and JRemote
« on: June 16, 2022, 05:49:59 am »

Hi,

I just bought Apple DVD Drive and connected it with my Mac Mini M1. I am using JRiver to play CDs from this drive and it works more or less ok.

My question concerns JRemote that I have installed on my iPad. How (and whether at all) can I control CD playback with JRemote ? When I start cd playback from Mac Mini Desktop then I see it in JRemote and I can control it. But can I also somehow start cd playback from JRemote ?

I don't think you can. JRemote has no knowledge of devices in MC. It's really based on zones.

Bob,

Thanks for reply. Is it possible to create a zone for DVD Drive ?

I can't think of a way to do so.
The zones are all renderers, whether on the local machine or on the network.
