MC29 Not using highest quality input with FiiO e17k DAC

I have a FiiO e17k DAC connected via USB to my Mac M1 Mini running Monterey. When using Mac Music the DAC input reads 96k/24 bit. When I play a file from MC29 to best I can get is 48k/16bit. I've tried switching the FiiO device to 96k/32b with the Midi app but it switches back. Any suggestions on how to remedy this? It worked before with MC27.
