You can pre-order an MC30 Upgrade at a discount.  Thanks for thinking of JRiver!

MC30 is not available yet to download.  Look for it this fall.

When you purchase any version, you receive a Registration Code for that version.  It is a permanent license.  It will always work with that major version (30, for example).

We also generate a portable Registration Code that works for 14 days so you can license MC on another machine without using a restore.

Upgrade purchases are available at a reduced price.  You can upgrade from any previous version by using your Registration Code for that version.

I always pre-order the new license from my Win10 Desktop.  The license always seems to install itself.  Then when I copy the .mjr file to my Win10 laptop & execute it, I can never tell if it has correctly installed. Of course since this is a pre-order, the help/about still shows the version 29 info.  Is there any way I can tell if the license correctly installed on my 2nd win10 machine? Thanks. (The window that showed up said something about it being already installed and further info being shown in a window that was possibly behind the current window. That was completely confusing since I didn't know if it referred to the install on the other desktop machine and there was no other window that showed up.). UPDATE: I executed the .mjr file again and this time the 2nd window DID show up and said the license was installed successfully. Weird. Thanks.

I have just purchased an upgrade license to 30 however I cannot for the life of me work out how to install the new upgraded version. I have double clicked on the license file I received in my email and it says that the license was installed successfully, however when I open Media Centre it tells me I am still running version 29. I have even done a restore after installing the 30 license and it displays the 30 licenses when I go to restore it, but after doing this it still tells me I am running 29. Your help would be appreciated.

I purchased the upgrade for MC30 and downloaded Media Center30 Windows-562491.mjr.  When I run it I get an error that I'm trying to install a license for a different than I am running and to download the version that matches my license.  I have looked over the info about pre-order and instructions, and though clear thing I see is to ask a question here for more help.  What is the download file for or do I need to do anything now to prepare for when MC30 is released?

Interested in trying out JRiver but not sure if MC29 licenses purchased now are considered MC30 licenses or is that only for those that are purchasing the upgrade licenses?

Hi,

I'm new to the forum.

I have a single Master license for Media Center 29.
I wanted to buy the upgrade of Media Center 30 Master for $29.98.
I entered my registration code for Media Center 29, and the details of my Visa card.

But I made a mistake.
I clicked on the "confirm purchase", and nothing happened. So, I clicked two more times, and then I noticed that it was written "click only once". 
So, I received three invoices by mail with three different registration numbers.

 
Will I be charged three times for this single upgrade?
How can I fix my mistake?
Who should I contact?

So I bought an MC license just about 4 months ago in June ... now I have to pay again for MC30? My current version is 29.0.87
I went to upgrade page but it's asking for more money.
I installed v30 but tells me my registration key is not valid and wants me to pay again

Upgrades are optional. If you're happy with MC29, just stick with that.

Yes, that should work.  Don't complete the purchase if the price isn't correct.

I have downloaded and installed MC30 - I purchased a license and somehow it is a MAC license not Windows - is there any way to replace the MAC license with a windows License -

I am new to this forum.

A couple of weeks ago I decided to take advantage of the upgrade offer to MC30.  I have a Master License for MC 25, which was initially purchased for Windows and Mac.  I no longer have Windows OS but tried to upgrade to a Master License from MC300087 on my Mac.  I used five of my Restores to get it to work.  However, each time I got an Error message and was unable to find any solution on the Forum.  I gave up and I am now back trying again.  This time I updated to MC 300093 and used a restore to upgrade to a Mac Only License.  I was able to purchase it but the Registration Code does not work.

Is it possible to move from a Master License to a Mac Only License?  If not, can I get my money back or pay more to get the Master License.

Hi Jim,

Thank you for the reply.  I had downloaded and installed it but there was a conflict which I have now fixed.  I have used a couple of restores to try to get it to work.  Is it possible to get those back?  BTW, My purchase email is different to my forum email.

We don't reset licenses unless you run out.  It seldom happens.

You can extend your restores by using the 30 day trial period and by using the Install Key (it doesn't use a restore).

I just bought the upgrade to MC31 for Windows.  When I tried to install it, I get the error message "You are using Media Center 28 Windows to install a license for a different version.  Please download and install the version that matches your license, and then try again."  I didn't realize that the upgrade wouldn't work with my current MC28 license.  I entered my MC 28 license for the transaction.  JRiver should not have allowed this transaction to go through if it was not compatible.  What do I do now?

Sorry, it was MC31, not MC11.  So it's doing as you suggest that's causing the problem.

You need a newer build of MC30.  30.0.93 is on the Windows MC30 board.

Or install 31.0.8 from the MC31 board.

I initially clicked on the upgrade link and followed the process which led to the download of a .mjr file. Running this gave the error I reported.
I have now been to the Download page which downloads the .exe file - the trial version.  This runs and I am able to register it with the Registration Code for MC31 that I was sent.
I didn't see this method mentioned in the upgrade instructions - did I have to use it because I was updating from such an old version?  If so maybe this should be mentioned somewhere.

I am thinking of purchasing two MC31 licenses for two friends of mine, one Master License and a Windows License. I have JRiver Windows licence since JRiver media Center 28.

Each year I do pre-order of new version (it is usually in April)

At this time I would need upgrade to Master Licence as I would like to use JRiver on Debian.

The best option would be to wait until April 2024 and pre-order JRiver 32 and at the same moment for a few $ more switch to Master Licence.

The problem is that we are in November 2023... do I have to wait until next year... or there is another option to upgrade to Master Licence now?

I purchased JRMC31 on 11 Nov 2023, some 4 days before the announcement of JRMC32. I did not do my homework obviously to see the dates and months the software is updated.

Is there a way of updating to JRMC32 without having to pay, or a reduced cost, as I have not really used JRMC31 that much in the month and a half I purchased it.
