Disable spotlight

Is there any way to disable the spotlight functionality? When I drag jriver over to a secondary monitor i often have spotlight open itself endlessly in tabs and it doesn't stop openings a new spotlight tab every second until i close mc, is there any fix to make it never open?

I have the same issue and would like to disable as well.

Please add my voice to the chorus for an option to disable Spotlight. I'm running almost the latest version (30.0.44) and I can find no way to disable it altogether.
