Lip sync problems.
« on: January 07, 2023, 09:54:44 am »

I am having a problem with lip sync since upgraded the system to Windows 11.
I also took an opportunity and upgraded JRiver 28 to 30.
This is not a new problem to me - had the same issues on 28th and Windows 7 & 10th. Resolved them by running my Sony 65AG9 on 24 Hz settings from Windows configuration.

Unfortunately that's not the case now - I have to manually change the settings depending on the refresh rate of the media source. CTRL + J to see what is the refresh rate and then changing Windows refresh rate accordingly - usually its between 24 Hz and 23 Hz. Sometimes 60 with new sources.

I would assume that such basic settings should be automatically adjusted/automated?

Any help would be appreciated - preferably few clicks solution. Look, I appreciate that JRiver has many options to customize the experience... on the other hand I just want to watch my movies - not tinkering with settings ad infinitum.

Source is mkv 99% of time. Playing from local hdd or from NAS using SMB. Playing with JRVR or madVR settings.

I have to confess I am somewhat confused by your post; your stated problem is lip sync but you seem to want to know how to automate frame rate (or refresh rate) matching.

Have a look at these wiki topics, hopefully they can help you resolve your issue.

For lip sync:

For refresh or frame rate matching:

You may find this information about Videoclock useful as well:
