Can MC send a key command?

I understand that MC cannot currently send a notification to OS X when a new track begins. I have made an Automator script that can query MCWS and get that info, but obviously I would prefer this be automated. I could assign the script to a key (say F12) and if MC could send that keystroke at the start of a new track I'd be set.
